Plant physiology
In this category we offer measurement solutions for the measurement of sapflow as well as for tree-growth. Our sapflow-sensors are based on the development of Dr. Andre Granier, INRA Nancy, in the 1990s. In the meantime we sold more than 10.000 sensors with different design (up to 3 thermocouples per needle, different needle-lengths, different length of heating-zone...) to be used no longer not only for pine-trees. Together with the ITC, Wageningen, within the last years we developed the CHD/NTG- (natural temperatur gradient) methode to compensate errors through changes in the way the sensors are heated.
The use of dendrometers and PAR-Sensors give the complete picture of the status of the plant. Dendrometers are quite often used together with our Scatter100 system that allows wireless signal-transmission even in the forest. Scroll down for more information.

Sapflow-Sensor Type SFS2 M-M12. Sensor-pair consisting of two needles with copper-constantan-thermocouples, 20mm heating-zone, 70cm connection-cable with Binder-M12-connector. Needs 84mA constant-current-source! Total needle-length 33mm, diameter: 19mm. Incl. 2 aluminium-tubes 2mm diameter and 23mm length.

Sapflow-Sensor SF-L Type M, according to Dr. Liu with 4 single-sensors, one of the heated. With 70cm PUR-cable, 6-core and 7 pin-Hirschmann-connector for elongation cables. Sensor to be connected to CCS-3 (83mA constant-current source in special housing). L=33mm, H=20mm, includes 4x aluminium-tubes.

Customized sensors available with needle-lengths L from 10...63mm and heating-zone H from 5...60mm. 2-3 thermo-couples maybe fitted in one needle as well.

CCS-2 – constant-current-source for the connection of up to 3 sapflow-sensors, I const = 83mA, Supply = 12..18Vdc, in IP65-housing with 4-5 cable-glands (please specify). Connection-cables to sensors and datalogger/battery have to be ordered separately.

Item number : 12602raCCS5 Constant-Current-Source
This Constant-Current-Source type CCS5 is used to power heater of up to three Sapflow Sensors of type Granier Principle.
The board is coated and prepared with DIN Rail Adapter.
It should be installed inside a weatherproof housing together with customers datalogger.
External power supply required 12-18 Vdc.
Output: 83mA to achieve stable 200mW heating power on standard Sapflow sensors SF2 or SF4 with 20mm Heating zone.
It can be used as well for other heating zone lenthgs, because due to constant current the heating power per mm will stay the same.

PROSA Professional-Sapflow-Evaluation Software - With the PROSA-App we have developed a tool which allows the comfortable evaluation and visualization of measured values from sap flow sensors, dendrometers etc.. Embedded in the user administration of our WEBvis solution, data can be selected from the WEBvis environment or external measured values can be uploaded. For the calculation of the sap flow density or the sap flow volume, the user only has to enter the cross-sectional area of the trunk through which the sap flow flows and decide on a method for determining the night maximum of the temperature difference of the sensors.
